Helene Zemel is a stay at home mom. Even though I have M.B.A. and M.A. degrees, when my daughter was born I changed the nature of the type of work that I did in order to spend more time with her. Spring
Marketing Tip
Flea Markets, Craft & Job Fairs
With
the 40 degree temperatures we have been having in the Northeast these past few
weeks, it is hard to believe that it Spring.
I do suspect that we will be in for
some nicer weather, so you might want to add some nice weather activities to
your marketing plan.
With
some nice weather on the way, consider doing an outdoor flea market, crafts, or
job fair. The large markets are best because they attract many visitors. Again
this is a good source of self generated leads where people will approach you for
information on your products, service, or business opportunity.
It
is important to make your booth or table as attractive as possible. You can even
place some candy, balloons, or other giveaways at your table. Have lots of flyers and brochures for people to take. You
might even be able to offer free samples of your product.
Consider having a raffle or drawing for a prize. Also visit the other
vendors at the market and give them your business card. Perhaps
they can use your product or service.
Make
up some large signs to attract people over. I even tried placing a car magnetic
sign on a magnetic board and it made for a very professional looking sign. Check
with your company to see what sales tools or display items they may have
available for purchase for your show or fair.
Marketing
to Businesses in your neighborhood
Do
you offer a product or service that other businesses can use?
Take advantage of the nice weather to visit small businesses in your area
to market your product or service. To
find small businesses, consider visiting a strip mall or small industrial park. If
you feel more comfortable, send an e-mail or a snail mail first, but first make
a call to determine whom to address your correspondence to.
